I believe everyone loves Rihanna. How can you not? She is a bad ass, fly ass phuck, and a multi talented black women. Hands down Rihanna will be one of my idols for the rest of my life. Back in May Rihanna released her Denim Dessert line with Manolo Blahnik. She was seen rocking her 9 To 5 boots earlier in the year and again this week. When do you think she rocked it best? I would have to go with the shorts, with the over-sized leather look. I feel like the jeans are too baggy and looks a bit bunchy against the boots. Question are her legs hot????

This Sunday was the BET awards and man was it full of surprises. The biggest surprise of the night was Beyonce gracing us all with a ground breaking performance of “FREEDOM,” with Kendrick Lamar. Beyonce wore a custom Julien MacDonald bodysuit covered in jet swarovski crystals. BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*I know they were soaked*

See some notable fashions below:

I loved Janelle Monae in this beautiful striped sequin Sass & Bide suit. She also did a TERRIFIC job with her Prince tribute.

Tara Shahidi wore a beautiful sequined Tracey Reese dress. Karrueche Tran wore a black button-front dress. Jasmine Sanders wore a mini black & white long sleeve dress. Meagan Good wore a  Lorena Sarbu cutout gown with a thigh-high slit.

Some dapper men of the night, Jesse Williams wore a simple black suit with white contrast. French Montana wore a chic mandarin collared white shirt with cream pants and matching boots. Morris Chestnut wore a burgundy suit with a think lapel.

Roci Diaz wore a Jovani jumpsuit which looked a lot like Naeem Khan jumpsuit on the runway FYI. Host Tracey Ellis Ross rocked this fitted snake skin vintage Thierry Mulger turtle neck dress. Tasha Smith wore a fun yellow printed jumpsuit which I loved.

My not so favorite looks of the night were Lisa Ray, Naturi Naughton and Eva Marcilla. Of course Lisa Ray wore an all white jumpsuit, which fit her like a glove. I don’t like that her bra is showing so much, but I do like Lisa’s choice of hairstyle and the lavender color. Naturi Nina Ricci dress is beautiful but I am not a fan of her hairstyle. Eva Marcille looked beautiful on the carpet but to me her dress was a little too short.

Over the years the Kimono has graced many runways and retail stores. For those who may not know the Kimono is a Japanese traditional garment. This is a great piece to add to your wardrobe. Every girl needs some type of cover up, solid & prints preferably. This is also a great piece that you can rock all year round. I own a short solid plump Kimono from American Apparel that I love so much, I am always getting compliments. I rather a Kimono than a cardigan any day. Here are a few ways to rock a Kimono.

The CFDA (The Council of Fashion Designers of America) Awards was held this week at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. One of the most prominent events in the Fashion Industry. The CFDA awards acknowledges the outstanding contributions made to American fashion. Designer pave the way for unique silhouettes & allows people to express themselves in their own way ever season.  Here are a few looks that I loved on the red carpet on Monday.

First CONGRATULATIONS to Beyonce for winning this years “Style Icon” award. She wore head to toe Givenchy  & stole the show with her inspirational speech. Beyonce’s style has defiantly grown over the years. She deserves it!

Gabrielle Union  wore a high pony tail and a beautiful abstract Lela Rose gown. Love the allusion that this dress gives off.

Emily Ratajkowski rocked this simple black Jason Wu gown. I loved Sophia Sanchez de Betak look, wearing a vintage skirt with Dannijo jewelry.  Joan Smalls was giving me a Greek goddess feel in this beautiful Givenchy dress & wavy short bang hair style.

Shanina Shaik looked amazing in this Givenchy orange low cut pleated gown. Givenchy was clearly my favorite of the night.

Loved this Marc Jacobs F16 look on Adriana Lima. Reminds me of a sexy goth girl coming to SLAY us all, one pose at a time.

Jersey’s are known to be the uniform of athletes such as basketball, football, soccer, & hockey players. For those of you who may not know; the design of a jersey incorporates a teams logo, with a players number on the front & their last name and number on the back. The Jersey became popular in hip hop culture during the late 90s and early 2000s. Back then we seen many artists rocking their favorite team in music videos & during everyday outings. When I was a youngin’ I remember my Mom buying me a Laker’s jersey dress. I though I was so fly with my downtown Nikes & cornrows. Now jersey’s are reappearing all throughout social media. Celebrities are rocking them in their own way & putting us on to where we can find great deals. Ducketti Confetti is a New York based designer who is known for making this style popular again.  Ruvilla, Runway In Paris, & Confetti Boutique are a few places where you can purchase unique stylish jersey’s from.

Trend Alert: PATCH IT UP

Over the past couple of months I noticed a lot of randomly placed patches on garments. I see more and more patches on jackets/shirts/jeans/bags, you name it. I love the random patch idea, it was actually something that I wanted to incorporate into my designs. I’ll still use this idea but switch it up a bit. It is a great way to spice up some of your older pieces or newer ones. Even adding fun pins and unique buttons can make your patched out look stand out. I would pair my patched out apparel with simple pieces but accessorize the look up. For example, India Love did a lot with her jacket and these Nike boots, way too much happening. Blac Chyna went the simple route, pairing her patched bomber with an all white onesie and matching Adidas sneakers. Here are a few patch ideas below.

These  perspex & patent leather ankle boots are are in big demand this season. Celebs like Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner & Karruche Tran are seen strolling around with these bad boys.  I wasn’t a fan at first…I have seen some clear ones that weren’t attractive on the foot. I started to see different styles recently & figured these will be great just to have in your closet. Some places that have great styles & good prices are Public Desire, EgoMissgudied. The only thing is I feel like once I buy these I will have to save them for the fall. I can see my feet sweating for dear life in these boots, but who knows maybe I can get away with them during the summer nights.
