The First Monday in May also known as the MET Gala, is one of the biggest night in Fashion. You can say it’s the Oscars of fashion. Celebrities and Industry moguls grace the carpet in extravagant costumes. and expensive jewels. The Met Gala is an annual fundraiser benefit event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Tickets start at a whooping 30k !!! It also signifies the highly anticipated grand opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibition, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.”  Lets get into the beautiful fashions shall we.

Rihanna is known to slay all red carpets. So I knew she wouldn’t disappoint. She came dripping in Cartier jewels and wore a custom Mason Margiela gown. Rihanna gave me total Pope vibes and won best dress for me.

Bella Hadid wore a Chrome Hearts Official gown which grew on me. It was dark is was bold and I must say she slayed this look.

SZA wore this beautiful Versace gown with an angelic headpiece. I loved how she paired this dress with some kick-ass embellished boots. SZA was also on Vogue’s best dress list.

Rita Ora wore this Prada gown. Her headpiece was reminiscent of Beyonce’s Grammy’s 2017 look & I loved it.

Jennifer Lopez  looked gorge in this Balmain garment. Wish she would have went all the way in though.

Zendaya slayed my whole life in this  Versace piece. Giving me Joan of Arc vibes, she kills it every time for me. From the hair to the makeup, her look was entirely on point.

I never spoke on Beychella because I was still stuck on wknd 2 videos & fits A few days late but we good. Beyonce’s performance was EVERYTHING.!!!! We knew to expect nothing less of Queen Bey. I stood up until 4 am streaming that awesome performance. Unfortunately, wkend 2 wasn’t streamed so all I had were images the next morning. Beyonce stage set up was beyond extravagant, she had a whole drum line production going on.

Bey gave us nothing but Black Excellence for two wknds straight, & I hope people learned a little something about our culture. How do you perform for 2 hours straight……with the bare minimum for a break. Beyonce is just AMAZING, she even brought out hubby Jay, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams & her sister Solange out to grace the stage with her. She bought out J. Balvin for wknd #2 to help her perform “Mi Gente.” I would definitely pledge Beta Delta Kappa if Bey was my dean.

You know my girl Cardi B killed her two performances. She even paid tribute to TLC with her all-white ensemble.  Cardi performed most of her songs off her new album “Invasion of Privacy.” Mama was popping & dropping everywhere like she isn’t 5 months pregnant. It was a performance you wouldn’t want to miss, who doesn’t love a reason to get wild & ratchet. Cardi had strippers up in the air & throwback videos of her grind. It’s very inspiring to see someone come from nothing to something & sticking to their true selves in a few years span. She bought out YG, Kehani, SZA & G Eazy to help her shut down Coachella.  Cardi did her thing and I loved her performance. Coachella will never be the same. Take a look below to see some visuals.

Brunch Season is BACK!!!!! NYC has been seeing all four seasons all jammed packed in one month. A bit outrageous if you ask me but I didn’t let that stop me from getting my brunch on. This weekend I went out to Agave on Charles St. for brunch with two of my girlfriends. Agave is a beautiful intimate spot with a wide selection of entrees. Being my picky old self,  I ordered the Skirt steak & eggs. My normal choice of alcoholic beverage is a chilled mimosa but the taste was a bit off so I opted for the margaritas. The food was tasty & cooked perfectly, I just need to step out of my element & try something I wouldn’t normally order. Anyone else is a picky eater?

Hey, Y’all!!!! Happy Monday! Hope your weekend was full of laughs, joy & excitement. Unfortunately, I worked all weekend but I did get to enjoy some shimmers of sunshine. It’s still very chilly in New York but I’ll take a cool breeze over snowflakes any day. I can not wait to experience some real Spring weather.

I wanted to highlight these beloved track pants that I purchased from Zara, which I grabbed on sale for $30 bucks. I do love a good sale, especially from Zara. This streetwear trend has definitely taken over & now we are seeing more trousers with the stripe on the side seam.

I love a good pant, I get so tired of stuffing my body into jeans lol, so a looser pant is a great switch up. Track pants are even acceptable in some workplaces, and I’m all for this evolution.

Check out my mini photoshoot at Bryant Park.

Can we say spring has semi begun in New York City? Aside from the very random snow storm on Monday. I’ve been a bit indecisive or whether to purchase white booties or white mules. Even though spring is here it’s totally acceptable to wear a fashionable bootie on a 65-degree day. At least I think so. Here are a few affordable to semi-affordable white booties & mules. Which would you buy?

Are we here for this so-called “ugly” sneaker trend? I’m a little intrigued with the design of a few of these sneakers. What’s really the gag with these shoes anyway? Why are we obsessed with this retro/futuristic silhouette? From Kanye West to Versace every designer is on board with this “ugly” trend.

I have to be honest, when I first saw how big this trend was, I didn’t like any of the sneakers. The Balenciaga sneakers started to grow on me the more they overflooded my news feeds. The Balenciaga Triple S and the Louis Vuitton Archlight sneakers are my favorite “Ugly” sneaker currently. It could be the chunky silhouette or the 90s nostalgia of these sneakers that cultivated my attention. The fact of the manner is you won’t see me running to the stores to cop these bad boys though. My pockets can’t take the damage yet.

The real question is would we rock these if they were Scekhers or FUBU ? Maybe we would be if a mega-celebrity was photoed rocking a pair. Are we invested in these because of the brand or the actual design?

Below are a few celebs pictured with some of these popular sneakers. You can also find links to retailers with knock-off Balenciagas for sell.

What are y’all thoughts?

Kim Kardashian in her hubby’s Yeezy Wave Runners, Tracee Ellis Ross & Bella Hadid in Balenciaga’s Triple S sneakers.

Happy April Loves! Sunday, April 1st was Resurrection Sunday! He has risen!! I celebrated my Easter Sunday with a 10am church service at Renaissance Church in Harlem. After church, I went to brunch at Chocolat with one of my best friends Asia.

It was a beautiful Easter Sunday, the sun was out & there was a lite breeze in the air. April will mark a big time in my life. Preparation for a BIG JUMP. I am jumping into my passionate, jumping into my goals, jumping into faith. COMPLETELY. I leave all doubt in March & I will not be turning back. I will be devoting more of my time on my blog, and curating much more content!

I didn’t have an Easter Sunday outfit planned out like I normally do. I was able to go into my wardrobe & pull out my cherished Polo Ralph Lauren pants & lilac button up. With my (adds a bit of sophistication to any fit), Boohoo wrap coat & BCBG generation nude heels.

Top & Pants: Polo Ralph Lauren

Coat: Boohoo

Bag: Zara

Shoe: BCBG Generation
